It’s 8:00 am on a warm, sunny summer morning on the Jersey Shore. We are on vacation but we know that if we want to see some action, we have to get up and out to the beach by 9 am. Why? Because dogs are only allowed on the local beach from 7 am to 9 am. This is generous compared to our beach at
home, where dogs are banned from most beaches from May until October.
We’re sure people think we are a bit odd as we arrive at the beach dogless (Mo prefers
Staycations), and with a fancy camera, but, dogs always have a way of bringing people together. In no time, we are making new friends and having fun snapping pictures of blissful dogs romping in the surf and digging craters in the sand.
At the said time, the dogs on the beach started to clear as the day’s beachgoers start to encroach with coolers, blankets, and umbrellas. We leave happy for the adventure and hope to have Mo with us on our next visit to the dog beach.
Sun, sand, waves, and coffee with dogs? What a way to start the day!
As they say, every dog has their day, or, in this case, their morning!
